UP TO 15,820 asnaf have benefitted from Prihatin National Foundation together with Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) through its Kasih Programme.
The programme, launched in September this year, aimed to relieve the burden of Malaysians due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is also in line with the government’s call on Keluarga Malaysia to help ease challenges post-pandemic.
Minister in the Prime Minister Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said the partnership between the two organisations is able to ensure the efficiency of the programme by adhering to objective achievement technique and its current rollout regarding the assistance is being posted to the related party to uphold transparency.
“It was a success due to involvement from the government, public agency and support from the private sector in upholding the ‘whole of society’ approach,” he said during his opening speech of Kasih food basket handover ceremony at Surau As-Syakirin, Jalan Wangsa Keramat in Kuala Lumpur (KL) on Monday.
MAIWP chairman Datuk Dr Mohd Daud added that the agency had utilised the allocation for the programme as best as they could to make the programme work.
“The programme has benefitted 35,000 Malaysians in KL since its initiation on Malaysia day and will continue for three months until November.
Neelofa Kasih Association is also the programme’s strategic partner.
